This week we raised awareness of #MyFreedomDay our students took to the stage to perform to millions of people around the world of what freedom meant to them. The occasion was televised by CNN and the students were, as always, impressive on stage as they performed the likes of Coldplay, Oasis and their own personal compositions which reflected the value of freedom.
With the ‘Beast from the East’ finally fleeing for colder climes and ice thawing at the tail end of last showing signs of thawing. The two leaders are planning to talk (the first of its kind in history) and the latter is stopping nuclear testing for the time being. I would love to be a fly on the wall during that particular question time. However, it is a lesson for us all that by having open channels of communication we can begin to resolve issues which could otherwise if left, could become strained and difficult. The Paralympic Winter Games have begun in Pyeongchang (The Olympics have no doubt helped to thaw the relationship between the US and North Korea) and we will be watching the athletes perform to the highest standards over the next couple, of weeks, as I hope our students do here at College day in and day out

DLD College Students participated in a 5k or 10k run, raising over £1,400 in aid of Evelina Children’s Hospital, a specialist London hospital and community services that is part of Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust.
For the second year running students and staff here at DLD College London, set out on a challenge to complete either a 5k or 10K charity run for Evelina Children’s Hospital at Lee Valley VeloPark, Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park in East London.
