Guest Lecture from SCAD’s Michael O’Brien

2nd November 26

The DLD Art Department was delighted to welcome Michael O’Brien, Chair of Photography at the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD), to deliver a lecture on the self-portrait in photography and art. Students from across our whole cohort attended.

Michael has been in post at SCAD for nine years and has worked in the fashion, art and photography industries for over fifty years, so he brought a wealth of experience to the session. Engaging and thought-provoking, he spoke about his collaborations with artists including Gilbert and George, and showed students a wide range of work from inspiring practitioners. For students considering creative futures, hearing directly from someone with such a breadth of experience was an invaluable opportunity.

SCAD offers over 100 degree courses in the creative arts across three campuses in America and France, and places 99% of its graduates into relevant employment.

Our thanks go to Michael for sharing his time and expertise with our students.
