Competition Fever

8th August 13

A Level Biology Student gets competition fever

DLD College London A Level and GCSE science students have been busy! During the Spring Term, we have had participation in the Biology and Chemistry Olympiads and the AS Physics Challenge.

The Chemistry Olympiad is aimed at A2 students; so our brave AS students received Participation awards and are looking forward to next year! Congratulations to AS student Amin Daei Farshbaf for gaining Silver in the Biology Olympiad (which is also aimed at A2 students). Far and away the most enthusiastic response came from the physicists, with 18 students taking part in the Physics Challenge. There were some excellent results: we have 4 Silver, 11 Bronze and 3 Participation awards. Our top student Yiqin Wang was just 2 marks away from Gold. Well done to everyone who took part.

Many thanks to Neil Townson, Dr Gregor Zimmermann and Dr Michael Chesterman for encouraging participation and supporting the students.
