Careers Advice

The world of higher education and employment has become extremely competitive in the 21st century and new careers and interesting opportunities are becoming available at an ever increasing rate.

The CEIAG (Careers Education, Information, Advice and Guidance) department at DLD aims to ensure that our students are thoroughly prepared to meet the career challenges ahead of them.

DLD College London Careers Advice
The Careers programme at DLD offers a high-quality, impartial and up-to-date programme of information and guidance. Speakers (ranging from professionals to former students) are invited to the College. We attend careers fairs and conferences, and organise a variety of Careers-related activities ourselves. Workshops on CV writing and interview techniques are provided, and through our exploration of work-related learning, students are helped to find work experience and placements at the end of Year 12 or take part in work shadowing.

We also provide:

• One-to-one, personalised support and Individual Careers Plans (ICPs)
• Careers guidance as a component of the SMSC programme

DLD is a member of ISCO (Independent Schools Careers Organisation) which offers their own, Futurewise psychometric assessment to help identify students’ strengths and interests. Unlike other psychometric tests, this is followed up by an in-depth, one-to-one interview with an ISCO careers’ professional.

MORRISBY ONLINE

Morrisby Online is a brand new online careers assessment and guidance package. A completely new system designed to offer comprehensive and accurate information about a student. It focuses on their strengths and potential as well as interests, motivations and the subjects they are studying.
