The Year 13 Media Studies students visited the BFI last week for the annual Media Magazine Conference. They heard a selection of talks from renowned academics on their set topics including videos games and advertising, alongside hearing how their set theorists could be applied to a wider context. They met Armando Iannucci who discussed his decades long career in radio, TV and film.
To top it off, the students had a live audience with set theorists Peter Lunt and Sonia Livingstone regarding their theory on regulation in UK media. Sonia and Peter discussed how regulation could be applied in a modern context and in the after show Q&A, one of our students got to ask what Peter thought about regulation in a world moving quickly towards VR.
