GCSE Students win Goldie Awards

Six DLD College London GCSE students were awarded a much coveted accolade at the annual Goldie Awards last week.

The impressive academics were recognised for their studious achievements in a ceremony dedicated to praising a select few individuals for their hard work.

The winning students were in receipt of the most number of Goldie points in the form of recognition from members of staff for excellent work and contribution to college life throughout the term.

The initiative for GCSE students recognises individuals with the most Goldies who are then acknowledged with the award.

The ceremony was held at the college last Monday and students gathered to recognise the hard work of their fellow classmates.

16-year-old Aliya Hendra who is taking eight GCSEs this year was highly commended for the effort she has put in throughout the year.

Principal Rachel Borland said: “The six students we selected for a Goldie showed incredible willingness to learn and a great ability to put their knowledge into practice at the school.

“The Goldie Awards are a fantastic way to encourage the students to work hard and to show them that it does pay off and does not go unnoticed.”
