Year 9 Students Complete Inspiring DofE Bronze Expedition

3rd June 26

Some fantastic highlights emerged from our DofE Bronze expedition this weekend as four dedicated Y9 students took on the South Downs for their assessed journey. Over two days, the group hiked across rolling landscapes, set up camp, and demonstrated the independence and resilience at the heart of the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award.

Their chosen activity focused on documenting local flora and fauna, capturing photographs and observations of the natural environment around them. From identifying plant species to spotting wildlife along the trails, the students showed real curiosity and care in their fieldwork.

Throughout the expedition, they displayed impressive teamwork, determination and a positive spirit — even when the terrain and weather demanded extra grit. Their commitment to the challenge reflects the values of the DofE programme and the strength of our school community.

We are incredibly proud of their resilience, enthusiasm and willingness to embrace the wild.
