Esports Department Update

25th November 23

This year has begun well in the Esports department, with our new Year 10 cohort beginning the BTEC Level 2 Skills in Esports programme, our DLD Dragons starting their conquests in the British Esports National Student Champs and Year 11 BTEC Esports students getting stuck into Unit 2 of the course, with their creativities running wild in the development of their own esports brands.

The DLD Dragons have expanded this year, from 2 to 3 titles played this year.  Dom T, Finn B and Vlad C have been appointed captains of the Valorant, Rocket League and League of Legends team respectively.  All captains have exhibited tremendous leadership skills in the qualification rounds of the competition.

The department is expanding as we enter its second year.  The academic provision is growing, more students are able to enjoy the Dragons’ Den and we continue to be involved in more external events.  The Dragons Rocket League team have been invited to compete in the Centerprise esports tournament at BETT 2024 and the school will host the inaugural ISA esports tournament day in March 2024.  The future is bright for esports at DLD College London, both academically and in co-curricular!
