Dear Parents and Guardians,

As I write my latest message, we are a mere two and a half weeks until the end of term! This weekend our boarders will be busy decorating the school Christmas tree and putting up the decorations. It really will begin to look a lot like Christmas!

But despite the excitement of the impending celebrations the school remains a hive of activity. This week our Year 11 took part in an Options Event led by our Head of Careers, Paul Schoonenberg and the academic team on the student council. This event focused on getting our Year 11 cohort to start thinking about their study options for next year. Our students were able to speak to Sixth form students and teachers about the range of exciting course options we have available and the different entry requirements. Following this options event we have asked your child to speak to you  regarding their subject choices for next year and we will shortly be writing to you in order that you can confirm their choices.

Our other Upper School students took part in a career’s activity looking at emerging careers in AI and this will be followed up in subsequent careers lessons. Meanwhile our Sixth form students welcomed an external speaker who spoke with them about an exciting developmental opportunity to travel Morocco. Do please speak to your child about this and our Houseparent Jan Haines will be writing to you all in due course with details about this.

In boarding, Houseparent Scott Webster took a group of students to Wembley to watch Malta vs England. Speaking to students afterwards they were absolutely buzzing at being about to attend the very impressive Wembley Stadium.

It has been wonderful to see our students continue to take advantage of the range of different opportunities available to them!

In a final note, please can I draw your attention to the bottom of this email which includes some information on the upcoming National Rail strikes and any impact this may have.

Wishing you all a restful and happy weekend.
