Book Club Members Favour Crime Fiction

4th March 22

Six months and six books in to Book Club, the students were asked to choose which book had been their favourite read so far. Silent Patient proved to be a solid winner, with lots of crime fiction fans in this group. Students enjoyed the mystery, describing this read as ‘a real page turner’. Everyone had a lot of feedback and contributed to a good group discussion.

The boarding staff that run Book Club (Emma Finnerty, Houseparent and Lowri Carini, Boarding Assistant) pick a new genre and six new books every month. Students then cast a vote, and everyone reads the winner. The group gather once a month, pull up the sofas, grab their complementary hot drink from The Grumpy Mule (hot chocolate is usually the preference) and have an open discussion about their latest read.
