ACADEMIC ENGLISH VISIT TO KENWOOD HOUSE

30th June 21

Academic English trip to Kenwood HouseOn Thursday, 24th June, as part of the Enrichment Programme, students of Academic English enjoyed the tranquility and beautiful surroundings of Kenwood House and gardens in Hampstead, north London. They had the opportunity to practise in context the English acquired during the year, and to learn about the fascinating history of Kenwood House. The students were transported back in time to the 17th century life of the aristocracy, represented by opulent décor, architecture, and furniture of the time. They were most impressed by the original paintings of Gainsborough, Turner and Rembrandt on display. They were also astounded by the breathtaking gardens and found it incredible that such verdant landscape and beauty could be found a mere stone’s throw away from the heart of London.
