Art in Action Day

On Monday 7th December, our A2 Art, Graphics, Photography and IFP Fashion Students participated in an exciting online Art in Action talk given by four leading contemporary artists, Grayson Perry CBE RA (Turner Prize-winner who uses ceramics and tapestries in unconventional ways); Emma Hart (Installation artist whose multidisciplinary practice incorporates sculpture, video and performance); Simon Roberts (Photographer); and Roz Hall (a digital artist, specialising in portraiture created on tablet and mobile devices). This event was chaired by Rebecca Wright, Programme Director of Graphic Communication Design at Central Saint Martins.
Through their fascinating presentations, the artists talked about their unique creative journeys, what inspires them, and how they turn an idea into a work of art. Students, who had the opportunity to question the artists, got a lot from this experience. This experience gave them an insight into professional careers in the Arts. They left the event stimulated and inspired, brimming with ideas for their own work.
