20th August 20
DLD College London is celebrating its students’ GCSE results today (20 August), announcing 45% were graded 9-7 (A* – A), significantly above the national average of 27.6%. In addition, 29% of the results were graded 9-8 (A*), almost two thirds (64%) were graded 9-6 (A*-B) and 94% were graded 9-4 (A*-C).
An impressive third of the students achieved grades 9-6 (A*-B) in all of their subjects and over a fifth of students (22%) achieved at least one grade 9. Most of these students completed their GCSEs on our one year intensive course.
One high-achiever, Charlotte who only joined DLD College London last year secured one 9, two 8s, two 7s and one 6. She will be continuing her studies at DLD College London where she will be taking A Levels in Business, English, Politics, Psychology and has aspirations to study a major in International Relations and minor in Political Science at a US university, most likely Georgetown or Duke.
DLD College London Principal, Irfan Latif commented, “We are exceptionally proud of this year’s cohort for their outstanding results, achievements and determination to succeed, despite the unprecedented circumstances faced. Our students and staff have worked incredibly hard which, alongside the outstanding teaching, pastoral care and support each student receives, is evident in these impressive grades.
“We wish them the very best of luck on their academic journeys and look forward to witnessing their further successes as many of them continue their studies with us.”
After the dramatic U-turn from the government, DLD College London is also celebrating their justified teacher assessed A Level results, for which the Class of 2020 achieved a total of 50% A*-A grades, 76% A*-B, 93% A*-C and a 100% overall pass rate.
