James Kidd will join DLD College London in the role of Vice Principal (Boarding) at the start of the new academic year in August 2020. Recently shortlisted for TES Boarding School of the Year 2020, DLD College London provides an outstanding boarding experience for its boarders from over 50 different nationalities. It is the only boarding school in central London offering on-site boarding accommodation containing luxurious en-suite rooms over 15 floors with unparalleled views over the river Thames and the Houses of Parliament.

Irfan Latif, Principal of DLD College London says, “The Vice Principal (Boarding) provides strategic leadership of the College’s boarding provision, ensuring it continues to be “Gold Standard”. We are delighted James is joining us in this role. He comes with a wealth of experience, will offer dynamic, effective, and person-centred leadership of the Houseparent team, as well as the highest standards of boarding which includes supervision, support, efficiency and care for all of our students.”

James joins DLD College London from St. John’s School, Leatherhead where he is currently Assistant Headteacher (Boarding and Co-Curricular). Prior to this he was a Housemaster in the largest boys’ boarding house in the school and previously spent five years as a successful Head of Department. He teaches Economics and Business Studies and will continue to teach and inspire students at DLD.

With two post-graduate Masters degrees, an MA in Educational Leadership and Management from the University of Nottingham and an MA in Business Management from Kingston University, James also has the BSA boarding management qualification from Roehampton University.

James comments, “I am passionate about holistic education and the development of young people and I am so pleased to be joining the DLD College London team where I can support the College with its ambitious development plans and growth strategy over the years to come.”

Outside of school, James is a governor at a state school and is also team manager for the Surrey Schools’ Athletics Team. For his sins, he admits to being a Spurs and Quins fan and he loves a bit of karaoke!
