DLD College London Open MIC Event

The Open Mic show was a brave event to host so early in the term. Normally our main talent show ‘DLD STARSEARCH’, which takes place this year on 17th October, take weeks of preparation and rehearsals, so it was really impressive to see new students be so courageous and show off their talents to the assembled College.

Julia Y11 played the theme from the film ‘Amelie’ by memory and impressively. Jimin played Bach’s Chromatic Fantasia at short notice, and as finely as ever. Myles Blair (senior houseparent) delivered yet another blistering performance from his repertoire. John Taylor organised the audience to sing a song in sections, as well as showing off his Boogie-Woogie piano skills. Kojo taught members of the audience West African style drumming and encouraged members of the audience to come up on stage an get involved, leading to a rousing finale of polyrhythms. A memorable event indeed.
