DLD College London Youth Pride Networking

On Monday, 16th January, Youth Pride ran a training event at DLD College London. Laura Kanaplue and Jo Thompson from Educate & Celebrate presented to teachers and students from across London and Kent. The aim of this session was to help schools and colleges establish and run Youth Pride Networks. There was a discussion on the importance of LGBT+ education and how together we can make simple changes to transform schools and National Curriculum. The students were all inquisitive and asked intelligent, thought provoking questions. Mischa Alexander and Keenan Al Hatmy represented the students of DLD Pride and got involved discussing their experiences.

Jo Harland, Leader of DLD Pride said, “This event was fantastic, it brought together students from different areas and backgrounds in one united, supportive group session. Educate and Celebrate, who organise Youth Pride, have an excellent mission which involves creating inclusivity and acceptance through educating students, staff and celebrating LGBT+ society.” DLD College London supports all students, no matter how they choose to identify. The students and teachers visiting from other schools were impressed with the new building, especially the large atrium space and facilities.
