Breast Cancer Awareness for charity Breast Cancer Now

Last week the Student Council organised a fundraiser for Breast Cancer Awareness to help raise money for Breast Cancer Now, which is the UK’s largest breast cancer charity, created by the merger of Breast Cancer Campaign and Breakthrough Breast Cancer. The Student Council baked and decorated over 200 cupcakes with an array of designs, created their own photo booth and decorated the atrium with various pink promotional materials.
This was the first charity event DLD Student Council organized in the new building, and staff and students at DLD either donated £1 to wear pink for the day or bought the delicious cupcakes that were sold for £2 each. Thanks to the generosity of everyone at the College we managed to raise £632! This money will help towards finding ways to prevent, detect, treat and stop the disease.
