A LEVEL RESULTS 2022

The triumphant A Level cohort of Class of 2022, who sat public examinations for the first time as a result of the pandemic, obtained their results this morning. A highly-impressive 40% of grades were awarded A*-A and 70% at A*-B, an increase of 13% and 15% respectively on pre-pandemic (2019) results when students last sat invigilated exams – well above the national average.

Significantly, 14% of A Level students attained three or more A*-A grades, and 38% of students secured three or more A*-B grades. Success was seen across the subject board; Classical Civilisation and Further Maths students achieved 100% A*-B grades, while Sociology, Art & Design, Graphic Communications, Drama & Theatre, History, Politics, Business, Film Studies and Media Studies all achieved higher than 80% A*-B grades.

One high-performing student, Viktor Tretiakov, achieved three A*s in Further Maths, Physics and Russian to go with his A* in Maths from last year. He will now go on to study Mathematics at the University of St Andrews.

GCSE RESULTS 2022

GCSE results for 2021 are exceptional for a non-selective school, showing significant increases on 2019’s results when students last sat invigilated examinations.

An outstanding 94% of results are graded 9 to 4 – an increase of 26% on 2019. 69% of results obtained are graded 9 to 6 up 30% on 2019, 49% graded 9 to 7 an increase of 22% on 2019, and 78% graded 9 to 5, an uplift of 26% on 2019’s results.

A notable 32% of students  achieved five or more grades 6 to 9 and 22% achieved five or more grades 9 to 7, while 15 % of students secured all grades 9 to 7.

One high-achieving student Egor, secured a phenomenal six grade 9s at GCSE and a Distinction* in BTEC, the equivalent to a grade 9 at GCSE.

BTEC Extended Diploma Results 2022

BTEC Diploma students at DLD College London have secured incredible results this summer 2022. A phenomenal 92% of grades were awarded at Distinction level (the equivalent to three A* to A grades at A Level), an increase of over 50% on 2019 (39%), and 100% of results were at Distinction or Merit (the equivalent to three C grades of above at A Level).

For the BTEC Business Diploma, a remarkable 100% of grades were marked as a Distinction, and 42% of BTEC Diploma students secured D2 passes, the equivalent of two A* and one A grade at A Level.

One student who excelled, Oliver Lyndon-Stanford, achieved all starred Distinctions – equivalent to three A* grades at A Level – in BTEC Business. Oliver is going to study Marketing at Bristol, University of the West of England.

BTEC Certificate Results 2022

BTEC Certificate students have secured a 100% pass rate, including 20% of grades awarded at Distinction star (D*) and 50% of grades at Distinction or above this summer 2022.

INTERNATIONAL FOUNDATION PROGRAMME RESULTS 2022

Our IFP (international Foundation programme) students are celebrating their results this week.  Over a third of them achieved a Distinction and a third of them are now progressing to Russell Group universities.

A total of 53 IFP students completed the DLD International Foundation Programme. All our IFP students (bar one) scored 40% or more overall and 19 students were awarded a distinction for achieving 75% or more overall.

In Advanced Maths & Economics, Financial Technology with Economics & Computer Science and also in our new Social Sciences IFP, the average result was a Distinction for these students.

A Level Results 2021

DLD College London is celebrating the best ever set of results in the school’s 90 year history.

At A Level, the students achieved a 100% pass rate with 82% of grades at A*-B representing a 6% increase on last year’s excellent results. Of those students that took three or more A Levels, over a third achieved straight A*-A grades and almost two thirds achieved all A*-B grades.

More than 70% of the A Level subjects achieved 100% A*-C results including all three Sciences and candidates who sat English Literature and Further Mathematics achieved 100% A*-A grades whilst Mathematics and Economics accounted for 25% of the A*-B grades awarded.

One student who excelled, Luca Pearson, age 18 attained an impressive three A* grades in Chemistry, Physics and Mathematics and will now go on to study Physics at UCL. Another, Sofiia Kruglikova, achieved four A* grades in Computer Science, Further Mathematics, Physics and Russian and will now progress to Imperial College London to study Aeronautical Engineering.

GCSE Results 2021

Students achieved exceptional GCSE results in 2021 with an outstanding 80% of results graded 9 to 6 (A* to B) and 62% of results graded 9 to 7 (A* – A). An impressive 92% of results were graded 9 to 5.

Triumphant students obtained their results from our multi award-winning school, with over a third of those taking 5 or more GCSEs attaining all grades 9 to 7 and half of them attaining all grades 9 to 6 with a 100% pass rate.

All students completed their GCSEs on the school’s one year intensive course, making their achievements even more impressive.

One student who excelled, Michelle age 16, attained an exemplary seven GCSEs at grade 9 and will now continue in the Sixth Form at DLD College London studying A Level Maths, Biology, Chemistry and Physics. Another student, Ryan age 16 who is a national maths competition participant, secured a remarkable six GCSEs at grade 9 and one at grade 8 and he too will go on to study Maths, Further Maths, Economics and Physics in the Sixth Form at DLD College London.

In addition, two thirds of the grades awarded for Art, English Language & Literature, Economics & Chemistry were at level 9-7 and three quarters of the GCSE subjects achieved a 100% pass rate.

BTEC Extended Diploma Results 2021

This is another exceptional year for our BTEC students who once more are celebrating a 100% pass rate for another consecutive year.

Half of the students achieved the very top grades of D* to D which are equivalent to three A* to A grades at A level and those studying Creative Digital Media Production achieved a phenomenal 80% D* to D.

These results are testimony to the sheer determination and resilience of our students to achieve in such trying circumstances amidst a global pandemic and also reflect the exceptional support from the incredible staff at DLD who have worked constantly to ensure the students did not miss out on any aspect of their education.

BTEC Certificate Results 2021

Equivalent to a single A level, our BTEC Certificate courses provide an alternative option to our students as part of their combined studies.

Once again we are celebrating a 100% pass rate for a consecutive year with 44% of students achieving the very top grades of D*-D, equivalent to A*-A grade at university.

67% of students on our Business BTEC Certificate achieved these top grades and we congratulate them all for their hard work and resilience.

 

INTERNATIONAL FOUNDATION PROGRAMME RESULTS 2021

The 2021 results season has started in fine form here at DLD College London with our International Foundation Programme students achieving an impressive set of final results across all of our foundation pathways.

In 2021 our foundation  students achieved a 100% pass rate across the course, with an amazing 37.5% of students achieving a Distinction grade (70% or over). With an average student score of 69.5%, many our students have now met the conditions of their offers to study at a wide range of top-ranked UK universities.

A Level Results 2020

After the dramatic U-turn from the government, we can report that our incredible Class of 2020 achieved a total of 50% A*-A grades, 76% A*-B, 93% A*-C and a 100% overall pass rate.

Of those students who took 3 or more A Levels, a third (34%) achieved three or more A*/A grades and 60%  achieved three or more A*/B grades.

Many subjects at the school also achieved 100% A*-C grades including English, History, Geography, Politics, Sociology, History of Art, Film Studies, Art & Design, Music, Psychology, Biology, Chemistry, Further Maths and the languages, French, German, Italian, Spanish, Chinese and Russian.

These results represent a significant improvement from previous years and are rightly very well deserved. After many months of hard work in incredibly difficult circumstances and requiring huge amounts of determination and resilience, the students embraced the online learning provided, which continued throughout the whole of lockdown, to secure their results.

Our teachers worked closely with every student both pastorally and academically to ensure they were fully supported along the way and understood how important every piece of homework and test would contribute to evidence for their grades. Timetables continued online from day one of the lockdown and every effort went into guiding the students through this unsettling period.

Principal Irfan Latif commented, “This talented Class of 2020 have had to deal with a lot during the pandemic and we have been impressed by the resilience and determination they have shown throughout. From the beginning they should have received the centre-assessed grades that teachers and schools painstakingly produced during the crisis. The outstanding results attained by this cohort will certainly open doors but their personality and character will keep them open. I am delighted that our students will now receive the results they so rightly deserve.”

These brilliant results enable them to progress to top universities in the UK and overseas and to study the courses of their choice.

Some early confirmed university places include:

  • One of our domestic students, Sid Wilson, will take up his place at Oxford University to read History
  • Another domestic student, Ruben Ticehurst-James has received a President’s Scholarship to study Maths at the University of Waterloo in Canada
  • International student Diogo Lami Roque Mana Fortunato from Portugal who achieved 3A*/A will go on to read English Literature at Durham
  • International student Nazanin Faghihi from Iran who achieved 3A* to go with her A* from last year,  will now study Mathematics at Imperial College London

BTEC Diploma Results 2020

Our BTEC students are celebrating another year of brilliant results. Almost half (43%) of the BTEC Extended Diploma students achieved D*D*D*-DDD, the equivalent to three A*-A grades at A Level, 62% of students achieved all Distinctions and Merits – equivalent to three A*-B grade A levels, and 91% achieved D*D*D*-MMM, the equivalent of three A*-C grades. Two thirds (67%) of students achieved the equivalent of at least one A*-B grade

In Business BTEC, 40% of results were graded D*-D, equivalent to three A*-A grades in A Level, and 70% of results were equivalent to three A*-B grades in A Level.

In Creative Digital Media Production BTEC, 27% of results were at at D*, equivalent to three A* A Level grades, 45% of results were graded D*-D, equivalent to three A*-A grade in A Level, and 55% were equivalent to three A*-B A Level grades.

Early confirmed destinations include:

  • Domestic student, Daniel Khan, who studied Business BTEC, will take up his place at the University of Leeds to read Business Management
  • International student Elli Mohajeri Moghaddam, who studied Creative Digital Media Production BTEC and achieved the equivalent of 2A*/A is joining Oxford Brookes to study Media, Communication and Sociology
  • Mhairi Laws, studied Business BTEC gaining the equivalent of AAA at A Level and will be going to Bournemouth University to read Business and Management

International Foundation Programme Results 2020

This year 58 international Foundation Programme students completed their IFP exams online. They were a resounding success for both students and teachers as almost half of the cohort achieved a Distinction.

In all, 98% of students passed with a result of 40% or above and just under half the students achieved a ‘Distinction’ with a result of 75% or above. The Economics & Advanced Maths programme achieved an average score of 80% and Engineering achieved 78%.

GCSE Results 2020

DLD College London is celebrating its students’ GCSE results.

45% were graded 9-7 (A* – A), significantly above the national average of 27.6%. In addition, 29% of the results were graded 9-8 (A*), almost two thirds (64%) were graded 9-6 (A*-B) and 96% were graded 9-4 (A*-C).

An impressive third of the students achieved grades 9-6 (A*-B) in all of their subjects and over a fifth of students (22%) achieved at least one grade 9. Of those who took five or more GCSEs over a third (36%) achieved all grades 9-6.

Star student Nina, from Ukraine, achieved grade 9s in English Language, English Literature, Maths, Biology, Chemistry and Physics, plus a grade 8 in Art.

All of these students completed their GCSEs on our one year intensive course which makes these achievements even more impressive.

In addition, 100% pass rates (Grades 9-4) were achieved in the following subjects: English Language & Literature, Biology, Chemistry, Computer Science, Geography, Economics, Music, Italian & Spanish.

A Level Results 2019

DLD College London DLD College London students are celebrating another excellent set of results, once again far exceeding the national average. Staff and students can be proud of the A Level results with 26% gaining the top grades of A*- A and with a 98% pass rate, with 54% achieving A*- B and 78% achieving A*- C grades. The College has a lot to celebrate not only at A-level, but also at BTEC where students achieved an outstanding pass rate of 100% and the International Foundation Programmes (IFP) where students’ achieved a 96% pass rate.

DLD is proud of its high performing and diligent students who are reaping the benefits of their hard work and the excellent teaching, pastoral care and support they receive from their teachers.

  • Jingwen Lyu achieved A in Maths and Further Maths, B in Economics and is going to Durham to read Accounting and Finance.
  • Kyrillos Vilsenko achieved A in Maths and Chemistry, B in Physics and is going to Westminster to study Architecture.

BTEC Results 2019

DLD College London’s BTEC students achieved another great set of results. For the sixth successive year students posted a 100% pass rate, with 39% achieving the equivalent of A*-A. We are so pleased with our students; their results are reward for their hard work.

There were many outstanding results across a range of students from a number of students including:

  • Emily Keogh achieved the equivalent of A* A* A at A Level in BTEC Media Production. She is going to Bournemouth University to read Multimedia Journalism.
  • Dimitris Fafalios achieved the equivalent of AAB at A Level in BTEC Business, and now plans to go to Pearson College London to read Business Management with Finance.
  • Hussein Hashim achieved the equivalent of AAB at A Level in BTEC Business, and has accepted an offer from Royal Holloway University of London to read Business Management.
  • Bryan Subaskaran achieved the equivalent of AAB at A Level in BTEC Business, and will read Business Management at Nottingham University.
  • William Robinson was awarded the equivalent of A* in BTEC Music Technology Extended Certificate and intends to read Music Production at BIMM London College of Music.

GCSE Results 2019

DLD College London is celebrating its students’ exceptional GCSE results.

An impressive 70% 9-4 (A*-C) with 28% graded 9-7 (A* – A). The cohort achieved a 94% pass rate despite the tougher nature of the reformed GCSEs now adopting the new 9-1 grading system.

This is particularly notable as all the students have undertaken the fast track intensive one-year GCSE programme.

One high-achiever, Sophia achieved 5 x 9s, 2 x 8s and a 7.

IFP Results 2019

We are delighted to announce that DLD International Foundation Programme students are celebrating a fantastic set of results. An impressive 96% of students passed the course and 33% of the 55 strong cohort achieved 75% or more overall and were therefore awarded a distinction.

Head of the International Fashion Management Programme said, “the IFP students have received an excellent set of results! It is great to see how so many of them are now going on to pursue their academic studies at University Level. They worked very hard last year and provided us with many memorable moments.
