FROM THE PRINCIPAL #165

9th December 22

James Kidd, Senior Vice Principal & DSL

As the end of our last full week of this term comes to an end, students have been enjoying lessons, Christmas Jumper Day and a Christmas Party that involved biscuit decorating, a charity coat drive and – the source of great excitement – the Bucking Reindeer…trying to stay on Santa’s mechanical helper!

On the academic front, it was lovely to take the opportunity to speak to some parents during our online Parents’ Evening; the students have largely hit the ground running and feedback so far is that conversations were positive and productive, setting students up to continue their drive towards academic success after the break. This week has also seen the start of the examinations for those studying on the International Foundation Programme; more examinations take place next week and we send good luck wishes to all those sitting examinations. The Winter Awards Ceremony takes place next week – nominated students and winners to be announced on Tuesday, alongside musical performances from students.

Finally, two pillars of our Wellbeing Community delivered a webinar on Proactive and Reactive Pastoral Care; this is part of a series of webinars, and I would encourage all to look through the series and enjoy learning more on the various topics covered.
