In Explore London week, 15 Art department students and six teachers visited the Instituto Marangoni in London’s trendy Shoreditch area.
The Istituto Marangoni is an internationally recognised Arts College, specialising in Fashion Design, Styling, Business, Interior Design, Product and Visual Design, Art Curating and Business and Multimedia Art. IM is a constituent Arts College of an international group that also provides prestigious placements and work experience to students in its sister Colleges in Milan, Paris, Firenza, Miami, Mumbai, Shanghai and Shenzhen – see more on their website here.
Visiting and meeting the Principal, course leaders and their current students was a privilege, seeing their students’ highly creative work and learning about their in-depth studies was inspirational. Our tour of IM included visits to the contemporary fashion, photography and design studios, work rooms, cutting edge facilities, including the use of (VR) Virtual Reality in Fashion, as well as their extensive library, etc.
We also had a wonderful question and answer time with the Marangoni Principal and course leaders and are very impressed by their passion, knowledge and customised support that they provide all Arts degree students.
The DLD Art department is very fortunate that over the years we have successfully enabled all of our A Level and IFP Arts students to progress to top international Art Colleges. Istituto Marangoni recognise the quality of our Art students’ creative studies and we are privileged to have a progression agreement with them enabling all of our DLD Art department students to progress to interview at IM.
Thank you to all the students and teachers who participated in this enjoyable and stimulating trip.
