Lower School Art Competition Winners

9th February 21

DLD Art students have produced some beautiful artwork in a lockdown. Congratulations to Year 11 GCSE Art & Design student Miya, who has won a Lower school Art Competition for the 1st half of the Spring Term. Her Acrylic painting depicts a ship in a storm interpreting how nature, which has been destroyed by man, is fighting back. Miya explains: ‘…I think nature is trying to restore the balance, that we, human beings have destroyed. We have damaged the Ocean by fishing, by putting thrash into it, and we are responsible for global warming’.

Another congratulation goes to two Year 11 GCSE Art and Design students: Aryan and Mei Ki (Winki), who are sharing a second place in the competition: Aryan with his imaginative idea of humans becoming robots; and Winki with her insightful portrayal of the way we destroy the Ocean through pollution.
