Government U-Turn gives students the A Level results they deserve

19th August 20

After the dramatic U-turn from the government last night, DLD College London students are celebrating their justified teacher assessed results. This now means that we can report that our incredible Class of 2020 achieved a total of 50% A*-A grades, 76% A*-B, 93% A*-C and a 100% overall pass rate.

These results represent a significant improvement from previous years and are rightly very well deserved. After many months of hard work in incredibly difficult circumstances and requiring huge amounts of determination and resilience, the students embraced the online learning provided, which continued throughout the whole of lockdown, to secure their results.

Our teachers worked closely with every student both pastorally and academically to ensure they were fully supported along the way and understood how important every piece of homework and test would contribute to evidence for their grades. Timetables continued online from day one of the lockdown and every effort went into guiding the students through this unsettling period.

Principal Irfan Latif commented, “This talented Class of 2020 have had to deal with a lot during the pandemic and we have been impressed by the resilience and determination they have shown throughout. From the beginning they should have received the centre-assessed grades that teachers and schools painstakingly produced during the crisis. The outstanding results attained by this cohort will certainly open doors but their personality and character will keep them open. I am delighted that our students will now receive the results they so rightly deserve.”
