DLD College London Model United Nations Conference

Last Friday, DLD College London students attended an Model United Nations (MUN) conference at Haileybury school. Having attended MUN conferences in the past, this one was unlike any other I have previously taken part in. I represented the delegation of Luxembourg in the security council, where we discussed issues such as the militarisation of space and the breach of national waters, as well as other motions. Part of our responsibilities involved presenting resolutions and amendments that would have been lobbied and debated by the floor. Although I found the conference highly intensive in terms of workload, it was definitely a worthwhile experience that I would definitely recommend to all those who are interested in learning a wide range of international issues, across the spectrum of themes, from deforestation to the situation in the Middle East. It also enabled me to improve my public speaking skills and learn how to solve problems constructively. Being able to fulfil the role of a diplomat was definitely one of the most exciting experiences I’ve ever had.
