End of Year Art Exhibition 2014

The Private View of the annual DLD Art Exhibition took place in the Gallery and in the Art Studios on Thursday the 26th of June. An impressive range of the best of this year’s GCSE, AS & A Level work were exhibited, including work by the 14 A2 students who have gained a total of 38 offers from a range of prestigious Art Colleges and Universities in England and beyond.
The work displayed was an impressive reflection of the achievements of our students, the expertise of the staff, and importance of the Art, Design & Photography Department’s contribution to the academic and creative life of the College. This was reinforced by the comments of the AQA Moderation Examiner’, who complimented us, once again, on the high professional standards, in relation to our organisation, presentation and display, the strong evidence of teaching and learning across all disciplines and levels, and the highly creative and individual outcomes that our students achieve.
This, combined with the 6 awards won at the Leighton House Kensington & Chelsea Schools Art Competition, and the 8 regional and national awards won at the Independent Schools Art Competitions, have helped make this another very successful year for Art, Design & Photography at DLD.
