Getting into Medicine Event

Join us at our annual ‘Getting into Medicine’ event that is taking place later this month, on Wednesday 25th September 2013, 1.30 – 4.30 pm (1.15 pm registration).
There is no charge, but there is a limit of 50 places available.
The information is aimed at Year 11 and Year 12 students who are interested in applying for medicine. The confirmed programme is:
1.15 pm: Registration in the Gallery
1.30 pm: Welcome and Introduction

1.35 pm – 2.20 pm: UKCAT/BMAT
Talk and question and answer session with Charliene Keen, Kaplan and Elise Dawson, Senior Marketing Manager, UKCAT
2.20 pm – 3.05 pm: Preparing your UCAS application
Talk and question and answer session with Martha Holland, Head of Student Recruitment, St George’s, University of London
3.05 pm – 3.15 pm: Refreshment break in the Gallery
3.15 pm – 4.00 pm: The Interview and Medical Ethics
A two-part talk and question and answer session with Peter Haughton, Senior Adviser in Medical Ethics and Law and member of the medial admissions team, Kings College London
4.00 pm – 4.20pm: Life as a medical student
Talk and question and answer session with a student ambassador from St George’s, University of London
4.20 pm – 4.30 pm: Feedback forms and prize draw
Registration can take place in one of two ways.
If you would like your students to register individually, please advertise the event using the Student poster (which includes a QR code that links them to the booking website).
If you would like to make the booking on behalf of your students, please use the Teachers poster .
It will be possible for staff to attend (they will need to book a place), but in previous years most delegates have attended without a teacher.
