Spotlight on Robotics: Creativity, Innovation and Teamwork at DLD

2nd October 25

At DLD College London, our Co-Curricular Activities (CCA) programme is designed to inspire students beyond the classroom, and few clubs capture this spirit more than our Robotics Club.

Led by Mrs Hilary Fitzjohn, Computer Science Lead, the club continues to be a hub of creativity and innovation, where students’ enthusiasm for robotics is truly infectious. Each week, members come together to collaborate on exciting projects that combine coding, problem-solving, and engineering design.

From building and programming robots to tackling new challenges as a team, the students are not only sharpening their technical skills but also learning the importance of resilience, adaptability and collaboration. With every project completed, their confidence grows—and so too does their passion for exploring the possibilities of robotics in the real world.

Mrs Fitzjohn commented: “The energy and curiosity our students bring to Robotics Club each week is inspiring. They’re not just learning to code or to build machines—they’re learning how to think critically, solve problems creatively, and work together towards shared goals. These are skills that will serve them for life.”

Check out our video clips to see just how excited our students are as they dive into new challenges and showcase their achievements. Whether it’s programming their first robot or preparing for bigger competitions in the future, the Robotics Club is helping to shape tomorrow’s innovators.
