Year 12 English Literature Students Visit the London Library for Coursework Research

4th March 25

Year 12 English Literature students recently embarked on an enriching trip to the prestigious London Library to support their upcoming coursework research. The visit provided students with an invaluable opportunity to explore a vast collection of literary resources while gaining first-hand experience of using an academic library—an essential skill for future undergraduate studies.

Upon arrival, students were welcomed by Yvette Dickenson, who led an insightful tour of the historic library, offering expert guidance on how to navigate its extensive collections. She also provided suggestions for fruitful lines of research tailored to students’ chosen coursework topics, helping them refine their focus and uncover unique perspectives in their literary studies.

Reflecting on the experience, Year 12 student Tara B shared, “I recently visited the London Library with my English Literature class for a trip on gothic literature. We were guided by an engaging speaker who shared insightful details about the gothic and showed us around the library. We were able to borrow a handful of books for our coursework. It was overall a very fun and informative experience.”

The London Library remains a vital academic resource at DLD, enabling students to deepen their literary exploration while developing critical research skills that will serve them well in their academic journey.
