Dr. Rupy, widely known for his efforts in transforming how we approach nutrition through his platform, ‘The Doctor’s Kitchen‘ captivated the students with his engaging talks to our Year 9 and Year 10 students.
Dr. Rupy’s presentation focused on the essential principles of healthy eating, emphasizing the importance of a balanced diet rich in whole foods. He highlighted how dietary choices directly affect our physical health, mental well-being, and even our academic performance. The students learned about the benefits of incorporating more fruits, vegetables, nuts, seeds, and whole grains into their meals, and the detrimental effects of consuming processed foods high in sugars and unhealthy fats.
Dr. Rupy explained that a good diet is the cornerstone of a healthy life. Proper nutrition supports bodily functions, enhances energy levels, and can prevent numerous chronic diseases such as obesity, diabetes, and heart disease.
He urged students to be mindful of their food choices and suggested that you should only eat ultra-processed foods like crisps and sweets a couple of times a month.
One of the highlights of Dr. Rupy’s visit was his vegetable curry and vibrant salad which was available to all our students at lunch and acted as an example of how to prepare simple, nutritious meals that they could easily recreate at home.
