8th December 23
Every year, the first week in December is a milestone week for our international students, who make up over one third of the student body in college. They are able to demonstrate the progress made in the first term of the academic year and showcase their English language skills. December is the month of the first sitting of the IELTS exam, the English language qualification required for entry to university (our year 13 and 14 learners) and for progression to different pathways within college (years 8,10,11 and 12). The final sitting is in May at DLD College, a British Council approved exam centre since 2018.
It is an invaluable experience for all involved and an opportunity for some of the older students to achieve their target score and meet university entrance requirements in advance. The students never fail to impress us with their timekeeping, mindset, and impeccable behaviour, displaying an abundance of resilience and a positive attitude to learning. Excellent ambassadors for DLD, we all wish them success and the attainment of the scores required.
