The 2023 Options Event at DLD College London saw Year 11 students brought together to meet both teachers and student subject ambassadors to make informed choices about their Year 12 subjects this year. This year, we also added a Careers stand where many students asked pertinent questions about subject choices and how they link to specific careers.
Over 20 stations were set up representing subjects including Economics, Politics, Psychology, Computer Science, Classics, Film & Media, History, Maths and Photography which allowed Year 11 students to discuss subjects in detail during this important annual event at DLD. International Foundation (IFP) and BTEC programmes were also represented, allowing students an even greater range of subject choices.
Paul Schoonenberg, Head of Careers at DLD College London said:
“Our Options Event expands each year to cater for the needs of our students and the different subject combinations that they seek to study. Teachers provide critically important insights into their subjects and our own student subject ambassadors provide a student centric view to our Year 11 students so they are able to make informed subject choices. Linking subject choices to potential careers is a further area of advice that we have introduced this year”.
Arian Asheri, Student Council Academic said:
“Our Tuesday Options Event was a chance for our students, the future architects of their own destinies, to discover the opportunities available to them at the event. It was more than an event; it was a catalyst for dreams. The resounding success is a testament to the collective spirit of our prospective students and I am so glad to have helped put this event together. Best wishes to our remarkable students as they embark on this exciting journey of self-discovery and growth!”
