Year 11 Options Event 2022

The 2022 Options Event at DLD College London saw Year 11 students brought together to meet both teachers and student subject ambassadors to make informed choices about their Year 12 subjects this year. With our ever expanding focus on Careers, subject choices at Year 11 are a critical juncture for students to make decisions related to their futures and to start to link those subject choices to potential career paths.
Over 20 stations set up to represent subjects including Economics, Politics, Psychology, Computer Science, Classics, Film & Media, History, Maths and Photography allowed Year 11 students to discuss subjects in detail during the flagship event at DLD. International Foundation (IFP) and BTEC programmes were also represented, allowing students an even greater range of subject choices.
Paul Schoonenberg, Head of Careers at DLD College London said: “The Options event blended the subject expertise of our experienced teachers with our own student subject ambassadors to allow our Year 11 students to make informed subject choices, which only benefit their student journey at DLD College London and beyond”.
Hayek Chen, Student Council Head of Academics said: “The A Level taster event was an excellent opportunity for prospective Year 12 students to get ideas about the courses they wish to study. This combination of expertise from teachers and perspectives of our student representatives provided the Year 11 students with insights into different subjects, which will help them to critically make choices for their courses next year”.
