Opposites – Art Challenge

11th June 20

The Art Department at DLD College London recently offered an extension assignment to the GCSE students who have just completed their course. “Opposites – Art Challenge” provides students with the opportunity to continue to develop their art skills. This is especially useful to those who are interested in studying Art next year.

Students are required to explore ideas for a theme which is opposite to the externally set theme that they selected for their Component 2 project. The assignment is delivered through on-line discussions and a weekly competition.

The first week’s winning artwork is created by Nina M who has been exploring how to make mundane objects look extraordinary.

The second week’s winning artwork is a photograph of a South Korean beach at Jeju island which is taken by Minu C. After concentrating on geometric forms Minu is now exploring the beauty of natural, organic forms through the media of Photography.
