On Thursday, the 11th October, Chloe Swann, a representative of the Arts University Bournemouth, came to the College and gave an Informative talk to our second year A level Art, Graphic Communication, Photography, and Art-Foundation students. Chloe covered a range of topics which included, degrees that are on offer at The Arts University Bournemouth, such as, design, film and media arts as well as what is expected of their students.
It was a very enjoyable and interesting talk that gave the students a real insight into the character and personality of this particular Arts University. It was also an especially enjoyable talk for our visiting Photography Lecturer, Andy Knight, who took his Photography Degree at Bournemouth before establishing a career in photography and teaching, which included working as Nick Knight’s studio assistant for 3 years.
The students were given the chance to ask questions and invited to visit the College campus and take part in workshops. This event is part of a strategy to build closer links to major Art & Design Institutions that our talented art students hope to apply to, thus improving their understanding of Art & Design Colleges and Courses. This will prepare them for the challenge of Degree Level application and study in the Creative Arts.
