Building Financial Confidence – Personal Finance Lecture

17th October 25

Students at DLD College London recently benefited from an insightful Personal Finance lecture led by The Personal Finance Society (PFS), designed to equip young people with practical knowledge and skills to manage their finances effectively.

The session explored key financial topics such as budgeting, saving, managing debt, and understanding credit and investments. The aim was to help students make confident, informed financial decisions as they prepare for life beyond college.

Representatives from The Personal Finance Society, a leading professional body for the financial planning sector, delivered the engaging workshop with real-world examples and interactive discussions. Students gained valuable insights into how to plan for financial independence, the importance of good money habits, and how to avoid common financial pitfalls.

Speaking after the event, Fumi St Marthe, Assistant Principal (Pastoral) commented:

“Financial literacy is such an essential life skill, and we want all our students to leave DLD with the confidence to make smart financial decisions. The Personal Finance Society did a brilliant job of making the session engaging, practical and relevant to our students’ futures.”

The session is one of many initiatives in DLD’s commitment to developing well-rounded, independent learners who are prepared not just academically, but personally and professionally, for the challenges of adult life.
