It has been a busy and rewarding start to the term at DLD College London, with a series of events and initiatives designed to strengthen our links with the local community and deepen engagement with students, parents and families.
Earlier in the term, we welcomed WeAreWaterloo to lead an assembly, giving our students valuable insight into the exciting regeneration and opportunities taking place right on our doorstep. Students were able to reflect on how their South Bank community continues to grow and thrive, and the part they play within it.
We also hosted representatives from the local Metropolitan Police, who delivered a practical and informative assembly on safety and awareness in the local area. Their advice and presence reassured students and highlighted the importance of being alert and responsible while enjoying all that London has to offer.
Alongside these community-focused sessions, we were delighted to welcome over 30 families to our Open Morning on Saturday. Visitors had the chance to tour our award-winning facilities, meet staff and students, and gain an authentic sense of the unique learning environment at DLD.
To continue building strong parent partnerships, we also held a successful “Meet the HMs” coffee morning, giving families the chance to connect with our Housemasters in an informal setting. These conversations offered a wonderful opportunity to ask questions, share experiences, and strengthen the collaboration between home and school.
Principal James Kidd commented: “At DLD, we are proud not just of our world-class education but also of the strong sense of community we foster—both within the college and beyond. From engaging with local organisations to welcoming families into the heart of our school, these events embody the spirit of collaboration, care and connection that defines life at DLD.”
