DLD Student Council Raises Over £400 for Macmillan Cancer Support

2nd October 25

The DLD community came together last week in support of a wonderful cause, as the Student Council organised a charity cake sale in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support.

Held in the Atrium, the event was a huge success, with an incredible variety of cakes, biscuits and sweet treats generously donated by students and staff. The stall quickly became a hub of activity as members of the college showed their support, and thanks to the generosity of our community, the sale raised over £400 for the charity.

Macmillan Cancer Support is one of the UK’s leading charities, providing vital care and assistance to people living with cancer and their families. The Student Council were keen to support the organisation’s work, and the success of the event reflects their commitment to making a difference both within and beyond the college.

Student Council representatives commented: “We were overwhelmed by the response from both staff and students—it was fantastic to see everyone come together to support such an important cause. Thank you to everyone who baked, bought or donated—we couldn’t have done it without you!”

This event is just one of the many initiatives run by the Student Council, demonstrating the creativity, compassion and leadership that our students bring to the DLD community.
