Student Council Champions Local and National Charities

23rd May 25

Supporting charitable causes is an important part of school life – and our newly appointed Student Council has already made a powerful impact.

Rehaan, one of our Heads of School, recently led a fundraising initiative in aid of Hospices of Hope, a local charity based just minutes from DLD on Lower Marsh. Thanks to Rehaan’s dedication and the incredible generosity of the school community, the event raised an impressive £705 to support the charity’s vital work providing compassionate care for those with life-limiting illnesses across Southeast Europe.

Continuing their commitment to giving back, the Student Council also hosted a popular ice cream sale to raise funds for Macmillan Cancer Support, one of the UK’s leading cancer charities. The event was a huge success, raising nearly £200 and bringing students and staff together for a good cause.

These efforts reflect DLD’s strong culture of empathy, leadership and social responsibility. We are incredibly proud of our students for their initiative, teamwork and passion for making a difference — both locally and beyond. Well done to all involved!
