UNIVERSITY, DRAMA SCHOOL AND ART FOUNDATION APPLICATIONS

Students are encouraged to attend Open Days. Applications are made online. Students applying to drama school have coaching in preparation for their auditions. Those applying to art school are given guidance with their Portfolio and choice of Foundation course. View the UCAS Site UCAS Applications

OXBRIDGE

We provide a comprehensive programme of advice and tuition for those students we think have a chance of being offered an Oxbridge place i.e. a minimum of 6 A*/A grades at GCSE. Lower Sixth students participate in the Oxbridge Entrance Programme in the last week of June.

This includes:

Visits to Oxford and Cambridge
Lectures from Oxbridge Admissions Tutors
Seminars in Critical Thinking
Mock interviews are also held
Following AS results, if the application still looks strong, Oxbridge candidates follow an intensive course, which comprises lectures on a range of cultural and scientific topics, seminars to develop analytical skills, and mock interviews followed by an evaluation of the student’s performance.

US UNIVERSITY APPLICATIONS

Students wishing to apply to university in the United States will be required to take SAT examinations. Tuition for these exams is organised by the college. For more information please contact Daniel Woodley.

MEDICINE AND DENTISTRY

During the Lower Sixth year students are encouraged to arrange essential work experience and also to visit schools of medicine, veterinary science or dentistry to find out more about the structure and content of the courses offered. Prospective medical students participate in the Careers Week Medicine and Dentistry Programme. Depending on AS results, at the beginning of Upper Sixth the student’s electronic application will be submitted to UCAS before the deadline of October 15th. BMAT tuition is offered in the Autumn Term. Applicants also attend a programme of weekly seminars on medical ethics. Each applicant has three mock interviews.
