On Wednesday evening the Regent Brass Band had their first rehearsal at DLD. They are a semi-professional group and are preparing for a top level national competition in a few weeks’ time. They are conducted by Paul Archibald who is a very well-known trumpeter and visiting professor of brass at the Royal College and Academy of Music. They were so impressive! The music they are preparing is very challenging, with many difficult twists, and fantastically fast in places, yet they took this in their stride.
These rehearsals will be the first of many and this is a great opportunity for us at DLD. When we have established the band at DLD they will offer free lessons to our students (and eventually to the local community) and also collaborate in our concerts. Another great fanfare for DLD!
