Rachel Borland joined DLD as Principal in May 2013 bringing with her a vast portfolio of international teaching and educational leadership experience. She has also worked extensively within the university sector in the UK. Most recently Rachel completed five years in Nigeria as Principal of Capital Science Academy in Abuja, one of the leading international boarding schools in West Africa. During her time there, both public examination results and student numbers were exceptional.
Rachel has two children at Undergraduate and Postgraduate levels of whom she is exceptionally proud of. She is keen to maintain the harmonious balance between domestic and international students in the college believing that “our” success is due largely to inspirational teaching, small groups and students from various backgrounds supporting each other. This leads to positive resourceful and tolerant young people who ‘are fully equipped for the university of their choice’
Rachel writes EAL, EFL and other advisory publications, to support the international English language community.
