InformationThe Staff at DLD
The staff at DLD is made up of real professionals with a real depth of experience and some real characters with some varied interests.

David Lowe read English at Gonville & Caius College Cambridge, where he was a Choral Exhibitioner, and at the Mozarteum Music Academy in Salzburg, Austria, where he studied solo singing.
Following a career in independent schools, as teacher, head of department, and deputy head, David was appointed Principal of Cambridge Tutors College in 1997. Over a period of eleven years CTC achieved growing success and recognition in the sector and David moved to DLD as Principal in 2008.
David is married with five children. He is a team inspector for the Independent Schools Inspectorate, and has been a trustee of UKCISA and board member of the British Council's Education UK Partnership.

Marie-Dominique Reza
Licence es Lettres, MA with distinction (Angers)
Vice-Principal.
She has been teaching in secondary schools in England since 1977. For seven years she taught French at Davies's College and joined DLD in 1999.

Daphne Morgan, MA (Cantab), PGCE, CPhys, MInstP
Head of Physics, Director of Academic
Administration.
Daphne Morgan read Physics at Girton College, Cambridge and taught for 9 years at Woodhouse Sixth Form College in North London before joining DLD in 1989. She was appointed Director of Studies in 1991 and Director of Academic Administration in 2008. Daphne is an Assistant Examiner for Edexcel A Level Physics.

Mojgan joined DLD in 1988. She teaches GCSE and A Level Maths, specialising in Pure Maths and Statistics.

Cathy David BA (Oxon)

Cathy joined DLD in 1990. She read English Language and Literature at Mansfield College Oxford, then followed with 2 years postgraduate study for an MPhil dissertation at Royal Holloway and New College London on Elizabethan sonnet sequences. She took the Diploma in Works of Art at Sotheby's in 1990 and has worked at DLD intermittently in the English Department since 1990 originally as a part-time tutor, joining as a Director of Studies and Tutor in English in August 2008.

Sarah Diamond BA MA
A2 Tutor in Drama
Sarah was awarded a BA degree, magna cum laude, in Theatre and
English from Barnard, the women's college of Columbia University in
New York. She spent her junior year at Wadham College, Oxford,
where she was involved in various productions, one of which was
performed at the Edinburgh Fringe.
She went on to do an MA course run by King's College London in conjunction with RADA, achieving Distinction in Text and Performance Studies. Sarah also has a graduate diploma in classical acting from LAMDA and was writer in residence for Floodtime Theatre Company in 2002. Sarah runs and teaches the A2 Drama course.

Aris Rogkotis BA (Greece) MA (Greece) PhD (London,
UCL)
Director of Studies, Head of Classics.
Aris studied at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece, where he obtained a combined BA Honours degree in Classics, Medieval and Modern Greek Literature and Linguistics (1996) and a MA degree in Classics (1999).
Sponsored by the Greek State's Scholarship Foundation, he studied for a PhD degree in Classics in the Department of Greek and Latin at University College London (UCL), which he completed in 2003. He has taught Latin and Ancient Greek language and literature since 1994 in secondary, higher and further education.
Aris is the author of an article in The Brill Companion to Thucydides (Leiden Press): 'Thucydides and Herodotus: aspects of their intertextual relationship'. Aris joined DLD in 2003 and he teaches A-Level Classical Civilisation. He became Head of GCSE in 2005 and Director of Studies in 2008.

Valerie Stewart, BSc PGCE
Head of Science, Directors of Studies
A highly experienced teacher, Val was formerly Head of Sixth Form
and Acting Deputy Head at Bedford High School. Val was a member of
the joint exam boards' consultative committee and has considerable
experience as an examiner and moderator for GCSE, A level and IB
exam boards.
