This course offers a wonderful opportunity to see exactly how your study of Spanish will help you in genuine everyday situations. It is also a good foundation course for those of you who are keen to continue with the subject into A-level as the course provides you with the basis of grammar and vocabulary you will need.

What will I study?

IGCSE Spanish will help you to be able to order food in a restaurant or write to someone of your own age about what interests you both for instance.

You will be required to learn vocabulary and grammar to be able to achieve these goals and will need to practise at least three skills: reading, writing, and listening. The speaking component is optional.

Paper 2       Reading and Writing (compulsory) 66 2/3%

Paper 3       Speaking test (optional, separately endorsed) 100%

What do I need?

Spanish IGCSE is geared towards students who already have a basic level of Spanish. Students should have done at least an elementary course to have acquired some knowledge and experience of both vocabulary and grammar.  This course gives students the chance to gain an understanding of everyday life in Spain: school life, eating habits, social life, sports etc.
