BTEC Results 2016
DLD BTEC Results 2016
Our BTEC students once again posted an outstanding set of results in 2016. We are extremely pleased with all our students, their results a just reward for all their hard work.
BTEC Media Production Results
This year’s BTEC Media Production results were outstanding and we are incredibly proud of our dedicated and hardworking students.
More than half of our students exceeded their target grade by at least one grade or more and 25% of students achieved the equivalent of two A* grades at A-Level. More than two thirds of our students achieved the equivalent of at least two B grades at A-Level. BTEC Co-ordinator, John Branney, reflected on the results saying ‘This year’s results prove that BTEC qualifications are a viable alternative to A-Level study, allowing students to access higher education and employment. The high level of achievement reflects the dedication and efforts of both the students and the staff’.
This year our students worked incredibly hard to produce some truly exceptional work. The college magazine was nominated for three student awards at the Shine Awards, which you can read more about here. The students also produced a live television broadcast called Array for the college broadcasting network, DLD TV.
Only in its third year, the reputation of the BTEC Media Production course is increasing year on year. This year our students received offers from some exceptional Universities including the University of Liverpool, Falmouth and Roehampton and we wish them all the best for the future.
BTEC Business Results
The BTEC Business course been popular since its introduction and this year our first set of results were excellent. Students showed commitment and dedication to their studies throughout the year, and as a result have reaped the rewards.
100% of students exceeded their target by two or more grades, achieving DD and D*D which is the equivalent to A* and A grades at A-Level. The high level of attainment mirrors the devotion and efforts of both the students and the staff.
I have no doubt that the course will continue to grow in popularity in the future. Our students have received some great offers from universities such as CASS Business School (City University London) who typically ask for A Level grades of AAA. We wish our students well in their future studies.
