DLD College London is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. Here is a selection of things that our students have said about their time and experiences at DLD College London.
I just wished to get in touch with the School that I feel helped mould me into who I am today, and share my good news, that I passed all my University exams, obtaining a Bachelors of Science Honours in Accounting and Finance.
Please thank all my teachers, and DLD staff for all their help in building me up as a person.
I will always be grateful, for the life changing experience I had at DLD.
Thank you very much!
I just wanted to say thank you for everything you’ve done for me this year. I felt so prepared and confident going into the exams because of how thoroughly you taught us, more so than for any of my exams at my previous school.
Hope you have a great summer and a chance to relax!
I just wanted to thank you again for being an excellent teacher. There are many things I would most likely have never understood about music if it wasn’t for you. I hope all is well with you and you have a great summer.
I just want to say thank you again for all your help with my university application, I could not have made the offers without your help. I will be more than willing to give a presentation help anyone who’s interested in LSE!
I wasn’t able to say this when I saw you the other day, but I just wanted to email you to say thank you soo much for everything you’ve done for me, and for the opportunities and support you’ve given me! Even though you haven’t been my teacher I feel so lucky to have been able to work with you through Student Council and other college events. Honestly, words cannot describe how grateful I am, and how much I’ve enjoyed my time at DLD – it’s been the best! I am wishing you all the best, and I hope I can stay in contact with you!
Thank you very much John! I really appreciate everything and thank you for your support during this year.
I just wanted to let you know that I have just graduated from St Mary’s University, Twickenham, with a 2.1 Honours Degree in Drama and Applied Theatre. As you may remember, I studied Drama, Music Technology and French A levels at DLD from 2009-2011. When I arrived at DLD, having had severe glandular fever and still suffering from chronic tonsillitis and chronic fatigue, I did not think that I would get into university, let alone obtain a good degree. Thanks to your unfaltering support and encouragement, I was able to do both.
Many thanks from both of us for steering our son through the ups and downs of the last year. You have been wonderfully supportive – not least in helping to secure a good offer from Sussex.
Every time I leave a lesson I know I have learnt something
Everyone is really friendly and mature
Studying Geography at DLD was a delightful experience. Every lesson was a combination of a good, enjoyable atmosphere and constructive learning, which allowed most of the students in my A2 class to achieve the highest grades they possibly could. The teaching around the subject was very inclusive of the students, with ample interaction between the class and the teacher, allowing all our questions and queries to be answered when needed. I always felt comfortable telling staff when I didn’t understand an area of a topic. The field trip we went on allowed us to really understand how what we were learning about really applied in the real world, which is a rare experience to have as with most subjects you never have a real chance to see the connection between what goes on in the class room and what goes on in day to day life. I will always look back on my geography lessons with warm memories.
Sorry that I couldn’t meet you in person to say goodbye. I just finished my very last exam. I am very grateful to have such a nice and supportive teacher like you.
Words are not enough to describe how grateful I am to of had you as my teacher and friend. If it wasn’t for your kind words and support (& really good teaching) I would have given up along time ago. I thank you for everything you have done for me, pushing me though all the times I doubted myself, you are one a kind and I’m forever grateful.
I will actually miss you loads Ed, I hope everything that comes your way in life is the good because you are truly a special person with such a kind heart.
Keep in touch – I won’t forget you and I’ll call you when I’ve made it and will fly you to my boat in my helicopter!
I came here and I felt safe
They are preparing us for a university experience
I hope you are very well and I’ve been missing everyone during last week when I was away.
I just came back from Sri Lanka and will leave to Cairo tonight, sorry that I didn’t find a time to say bye to you and hope you wouldn’t mind me saying it here.
I’ve been lucky to come here and meet you guys who helped me and encouraged me thoroughly. I could not expect any better memory you’ve left to me. Thanks for helping me to make such a transformation and please allow me to apologise if I’ve ever brought any concerns to you.
I will visit you guys after the summer and if there is anything I can do for the college in the further, just let me know, I will always be happy to do it. Please deliver my ‘hi’ and ‘ thanks ‘ to everyone and wish you have a lovely summer! Thanks again.
Personally I feel very comfortable to go to the tutors and I know that they will help us
I have finally got into the University of Birmingham with the results of A*A*C a C in physics and A* in double maths. Thanks all of the teachers for being there for me.
Just an email to say thank you so much for all the support this year! I’m super excited to go to Goldsmiths and I couldn’t have done it without all of my teachers! So thank you!
I’m really going to miss everyone, but I’ve had an amazing time and will pop back in at some point next year to say hello!
So again, thank you so much!
I got my results today and you would be pleased to know that I got an A* in Further Maths. Thank you for all the help. My marks in statistics are so high because you taught the basics so well!
Thank you for absolutely everything John. Couldn’t have done it without your help and support ! I’ve actually done it!! I’m so pleased with the outcome and am proud of myself. Thank you!
I was just emailing you to let you know that shortly after I left the college on results day I received a call from the Head of Admissions at Exeter Medical School asking if I would like a place on the medical programme this year and I (obviously) accepted. I was so unbelievably happy and just wanted to thank you again for everything this year, I couldn’t have done it without your support and the fantastic teaching at the college.
Have a very nice summer and I appreciate the extra work it’s taken to get me through to next year.
They never force us to think in a particular way. They guide us and allow us to think for ourselves
They make us want to do our work
We always help each other
I feel like I have a family here
